A Historic, Friendly City Built for All
Amsterdam is a compact, high-impact city built around canals, culture, and a relaxed café rhythm. Expect walkable streets, constant bike traffic, and a mix of historic architecture with modern design.
It’s efficient to navigate and easy to sample a lot in a short window.
The people are friendly, tall and humble. You will find something new about yourself, and at the same time feel like you left it behind when you leave. But don’t fret, it’ll be waiting for your return!
Notes:
- Don’t be put off by the whole idea that the city is built for debauchery. It’s very friendly for anyone, at any time. This is, after all, home to many of the Dutch.
- Pencil in April 27th for a visit, as it’s Kings Day (Koningsdag)! Unless, of course, you have a fear of orange!
- Albert Heijn is within walking distance no matter where you are in the city. Cheap beers and take some groceries so you can eat like a true Dutchie.
